Dear Mid-Maryland Members:

For the past two years, it has been a privilege to serve as your chapter President. It has also been an honor to work with the Board of Directors. They are truly a remarkable group of professionals who share the same passion for NARI as I do. I have the utmost respect for each one of them.

Our Chapter has taken great strides and conquered new ground. I am very proud that our membership has remained steady. Our first CoTY Awards program and first Surplus Sale were each a huge success. We have established a scholarship fund for deserving young people who want to pursue the building trades as a career. We have a database of over a couple hundred names of homeowners who elected to be on our mailing list. I mention these things to thank all those who have taken part in initiating, developing, and engaging each one of these programs and the many other things our chapter offers.

As I step down as President, I look forward to my new role as a committee member, board member, and being active at our up coming events. A new year is about to begin. Some of us want to put 2009 way behind us, others have learned valuable lessons regarding their businesses, and others want to celebrate their successes of the past year. As 2010 approaches, many of us will be setting new goals, both personal and professional. Ask yourself, what can I do to get more out of my NARI chapter? What can I do to help the chapter grow? What can I do to make a difference?

I look forward to spending time with each of you next year at our NARI Mid-Maryland events.  Please help me welcome our 2010 Board of Directors.
